Wow. So this whole track meet thing is just a bunch of organized chaos, huh? I went in not knowing what to expect, and even though I now have a better idea, I'm still a little overwhelmed by the whole experience.
Basketball games are so much easier to follow! With track and field, you've got all these poles and hurdles and hurlable objects. Plus, all the contestants are so spread out. Long jump here, high jump there, discus over there, shot put here.
Speaking of shot put, that was Katie's event.
She was disappointed with her distance, but for her first time out, she did a good job! As with any new sport, there has to be a learning curve.
Apparently that applies to spectators, too!
