At long last it's time for Ryan and Katie to have an excuse to eat chocolate every single night. It's December, and the countdown to Christmas has begun with our two of our favorite traditions: the Adventskalenders and the Beary Merry Christmas calendar.
The kids enjoy finding the chocolate behind each day's square, and the German Club at school enjoys my business every year!
My mom made this DecemBear calendar for me years ago, and the kids have come to expect it to become part of our kitchen decor as soon as the decorations go up.
(Last year's pictures are here.)

I love this calendar. My grandmother made one for me about 18 years ago, and I have been looking for this pattern everywhere! My siblings are still using the calendar in my parents house, and I want to make one for my kids. Do you happen to know where your mother got it from? You can e-mail me at mistiliah@hotmail.com
Do you have any idea where to buy this panel? If so, please let me know!

I saw one posted on ebay.
I had the Decembear that my mom made me when I was a girl, but lost it when Katrina hit. I'm also looking for the panel to make a new one for my children.
Please e-mail any info on where I can find it to krpartridge2003@gmail.com
Thanks
My mom found this panel more than 20 years ago, so I have no idea where to find one now! Sorry!
Hello- I made this for my 2 kids (now adults) about 28 years ago. The manufacturer is VIP Cranston. Both kids wanted it for their home so I bought an unused panel from ebay for $61 after about 2 years of looking. I set up a google alert for "decembear" and VIP Cranston and during the summer someone posted it and I was able to get it for 61.
They are most expensive around Christmas (I've seen prices from 150-500) but you may well find one at a price you feel good about. Good luck!
We bought one at a church bazaar about 25 years ago for $10 and our daughters took turns moving the bear everyday at Christmas time....For the past few years, the girls, now 26 and 31 have been arguing (somewhat good naturedly) about who had the stronger claim on Decembear. My husband and I announced we were keeping it for future grandchildren. We kept looking for a new one (I believe the manufacturer has gone out of business) but they were all $150 and more, and we just weren't going there. .But then this year, a week before Christmas, just cruising Ebay, I found an auction ending in two hours with a price of $51...and I got it! We gave each of the girls a Decembear and it made Christmas morning. Two adult women thrilled over a children's advent calendar. :-)
Their husbands, too, were glad to hear the end of who deserved the Advent Calendar. With the manufacturer gone, I hope someone has the copyright on Decembear, he's too popular to just disappear.
